    This e-book reports results of the assessment of impact of the COVID pandemic on students' learning in the Alto-Minho Schools. In the first phase, it describes and compares the performance (indicators of educational success) of students of the 19 school groupings. In a later phase the researchers accessed the perceptions of the interlocutors of the educational community of the region representing the 10 municipalities (headmasters, teachers, students, operational assistants and parents), regarding the effects of the pandemic on the teaching-learning process, on educational success and on personal, social and well-being dynamics.

The BEHAVE application supports the management of problem behaviours through the creation of costum measures, the operational definition of a behaviour, the collection of behavioural data, and the comparison between baseline and intervention conditions.     The specific purpose of this project is to promote teachers in their role as key actors in realizing inclusive education. An innovative assessment tool (‘Inclusive Assessment Map – I AM’) will be developed that provides strong guidance for teachers how to create school environments in order to be inclusive places. The tool I AM will be based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth (ICF-CY). It will jointly be developed by a team of international experts from both university and practice. The output will be practical for key actors in the field of education, and its effects are expected to have important implications for policy makers and researchers.

    Friendship is one of the most important features of social participation in a student's life. However, it shows, that for many students – especially those with special educational needs, refugees, students with problems in learning or chronic diseases – that their embedding in the class community is inadequate in terms of friendships, acceptance by their classmates and the associated self-perception. Friendships are also endangered by increased digitalisation and use of mobile devices, which hinder students to enter into social contact. Hence, this project wants to promote social participation and inclusive education through the FRIEND-SHIP intervention programme – a low-threshold programme with educators and students in a 6-week period.
